- Washington, DC will be buzzing with activity this year as the city celebrates DC250. Road closures around the National Mall may affect rideshare routes, so whether you choose to use public transportation or a rideshare service, it's a good idea to plan your travels in advance.

Fun Run / Walk

Join City Fit Tours and their knowledgeable local guides for the Mall to Monuments running tour. This unforgettable 5k-ish tour takes runners to the National Mall, passing the Washington Monument, WWI Memorial, and more, while your expert guide delivers fascinating facts, untold stories, and photo ops that will light up your social feed.
Pace groups
There will be several pace groups offered to encourage participants of all abilities.
- Walking: Enjoy a brisk 2-mile walk, where history and fitness combine. You won't get as far as the runners, but you'll see some incredible hidden DC gems.
- Easy: pace groups for 11:00/12:00, 6:50/7:30/km with stops.
- Moderate: pace groups for 9:00/10:00 (5:35/6:15/km) and 11:00/12:00 (6:50/7:30/km). These groups will stop at 3–5 significant sites along the way and at the Mall.
- Runner's Run: Get a little farther with this faster (8:00/9:00 [5:00-5:35/km]) group without stops. We'll go by the Mall's significant monuments, but you and your guide will breeze past them while sharing a few highlights.
Upon completion of registration, be sure to complete your liability waiver and send an email to soameetings@soa.org to indicate which pace group you plan to be apart of.

Dr. Ashwin Vasan is a physician and epidemiologist who most recently served as the 44th Health Commissioner of New York City, leading bold efforts to advance prevention, equity, and population health. He spearheaded transformative initiatives, including the landmark HealthyNYC agenda, to reverse declines in life expectancy and address widening health inequities in the wake of COVID-19.
